Celebrating a Life Well Lived. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pamela Kathlynne Hammond, a cherished soul who departed this world on May 22, 2025. Pam was born on December 22, 1947, to Frances and Connor Hammond. Pam brought light and laughter to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on many lives. Pam was the kindest, nicest, gentlest person that you could ever know. She never said an unkind word about anyone and was not one to spread gossip, although she was always ready to listen to it. She was especially fond of clothes, shoes, and her cats. Pam graduated from Morgan City High School in 1965. She had the distinction of being the first female student body president and the first female drum major in school history. She subsequently graduated from Nichols State University in 1969. Pam received a J.D. degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University where she is in the Hall of Fame and Moot Court Winner. Pam then entered the practice of law in New Orleans, where she was an exemplar of the smart, hard-working attorney. Pam is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Hammond Gray. She is also survived by Faye Ann Waldrop and Jane Cook, her best friends for over 70 years as well as a multitude of other friends. A celebration of Pam's life will be held at a later date.
