Lafayette, Louisiana - Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Marianne Villermin Bienvenu, age 92, who passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Entombment will be held in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum of the Resurrection in Lafayette.

Reverend Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice and son of Mrs. Bienvenu, will serve as Celebrant of the Mass and officiate at the services. Reverend Joshua Guillory, JCL, Reverend F. Hampton Davis, III, Reverend Thomas Voorhies and Reverend David Rozas will concelebrate.

A native of New Iberia and the daughter of Paul and Ann Villermin, Marianne was a high school graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy. She received her college degree in Education from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans to which she attributed her interest and dedication to the education of her children and grandchildren.

She married Willie Z. Bienvenu, M.D., in 1955 and enjoyed years as a homemaker and mother of six. Marianne served her church and community as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, Sierra Club member, volunteer at St. Joseph Diner, Come Lord Jesus Coordinator, homebound and hospital Eucharistic volunteer, President of the Lafayette Parish Medical Auxiliary, and President of L'Avenir's Women Organization to which she was a longtime member. Marianne belonged to the Secular Order of the Discalced Carmelites and took her finals vows on May 18, 2025. Mrs. Bienvenu leaves a legacy of love of God and family.

Surviving are her children, Marie Bienvenu Wright (Thomas), Anne Daigle (Wayne), Will Z. Bienvenu (Simone), Reverend Paul Bienvenu, Michelle Seymour (Karl), and Therese Bertrand.

Cherished grandchildren, Camille Landry (Brennan), Chelsea Lanclos (Philip), Austin Daigle (Kaci), Olivia Daigle (Jason Petitjean), Gabrielle Bancroft (Conner), Jessice Ponze (Casey), Zachary P. Bienvenu (Amy), Marcelle Castedo (Paul), Neal Seymour, Joshua Seymour, Jude Bertrand, and Jolie Bertrand. Her great grandchildren are ten blessings.

Mrs. Bienvenu was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, her parents, and son-in-law, Lance Bertrand.

Pallbearers will be Will Z. Bienvenu, Austin Daigle, Zachary Bienvenu, Neal Seymour, Joshua Seymour, Jude Bertrand, and Jimmy Noel.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her sons in law, Thomas Wright, Wayne Daigle, and Karl Seymour and godson, Dicky Broussard.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 9:00 AM until time of services at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 10:15 AM at the church.
