Lorris Schexnaider
April 11, 1940 - February 28, 2025
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 3, 2025 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lorris Leo Schexnaider, 84, who passed away on February 28, 2025.
Fr. Steve LeBlanc will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Schexnaider, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Henry Schexnaider and the former Enola Racca. Lorris spent his entire career in the oilfield with Halliburton and retired with over 40 years of service. He was a proud member of the KoC, Council 7275, with Holy Cross Catholic Church. Lorris loved gardening, duck hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ethel Phillips Schexnaider; daughter, Cheryl S. (Ronald) Veronie; grandchildren, Nicole V. (Cory) Bourque, Rachel V. Hebert, Cody (Lindsey) Schexnaider, and Courtney Schexnaider; great-grandchildren, Hunter (Jill) Bourque, Haylee Bourque, Chace Hebert, Drake Hebert, Braydee Schexnaider, Brett Schexnaider, and Beni Schexnaider; siblings, Norris (Shirley) Schexnaider, Bobby Schexnaider, Betty S. Trahan, Kathy S. Vincent, Irene S. Harrington, and Flaudry S. (Michael) Gary.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, David Schexnaider and Tommy Schexnaider; grandson, Kevin Veronie; parents, Henry and Enola Schexnaider; and brother, Johnny Schexnaider.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Cody Schexnaider, Hunter Bourque, Cory Bourque, Chace Hebert, Drake Hebert, and Bobby Schexnaider.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff & nurses with Heart of Hospice for the exceptional care given them in their time of need.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
