Lafayette, Louisiana - A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at an 11:00 AM Service in Our Savior's Church - Lafayette Campus, 1201 E Broussard Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508, for James "Jim" Corbett, age 73, who passed away on January 8, 2026, in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Pastor Jacob Aranza will officiate at the services.

Jim was born September 16, 1952, in Florence, AL. He was a longtime resident of Berwick and then Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from Nicholls State University. He had an exceptional and distinguished 38-year long career in banking, eventually retiring as the Regional President of Hancock Whitney. His life was the embodiment of vibrancy and inquisitiveness. He had a wide breadth of knowledge and interests and was always eager to learn something new. He leaves a legacy of truly undying support for his family and friends. He was a man who was always genuinely interested in everyone he met. His greatest passion was his family, and he was rarely spotted without his best friend and bride, Tammie. Their loving relationship was an inspiration to everyone they encountered and will continue to be one deserving of emulation.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years and soul mate, Tammie Guidry Corbett of Berwick, LA; his son, James Sellers Corbett, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; and his daughter, Catherine Corbett Landrum and her husband, Dr. Matthew Ray Landrum of Little Rock, AR; three grandchildren, EllaGrace Noel Corbett of Lafayette, LA, and Zachary Thomas Landrum and Drew Alexander Landrum of Little Rock, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James C.A. Corbett and Melba Bailey Corbett.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Our Savior's Church - Lafayette Campus,1201 E Broussard Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508, from 9:00 AM until time of services.
