Lafayette, Louisiana - A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for James Richard Faulk, 72, who passed away on May 8, 2025. The family requests in honor of Jim's "joie de vivre", please come in your most festive apparel!

Susie Faulk Mereby and Robert M. Murphy will conduct the funeral services.

Jim, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Arthur Albert Faulk and the former Lavenia Elizabeth Tarver. Jim was deeply involved in the Lafayette community, a place he proudly called home. He was an Eagle Scout, a former president of the Evangeline Area Council, a longtime board member of Hospice of Acadiana, and a devoted Rotarian. In fact, Jim celebrated 36 years of Rotary membership on May 1 — a remarkable milestone. He was also heavily involved in the various Southwestern Mardi Gras Krewes, even serving as King of Attakapas in 2007. Adored by family and friend alike, "Papa" will be dear missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Sue Murphy Faulk; daughter, Elizabeth Renee (Blair) Scrantz; grandchildren, Elly, Murphy, and Henry; siblings, Bert (Tina) Faulk, Ben Faulk, Beth F. (Ronald) Anders, and Susan F. (Monzer) Mereby; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parent, Arthur and Lavenia Faulk.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana and The Boy Scout's Scout Service Center - Evangeline Area Council.
