The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Interment will be held in St. John Cemetery - Lafayette.

The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, D.D., M.A., Bishop, Diocese of Lake Charles, Louisiana, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and officiate the services. Deacon George Jourdan will assist with the services.

Irène is survived by her son, Gregory Chris Daley; daughter, Janet Daley Duval and her husband, Stanwood; and the granddogs, Kali and Doc Holiday.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Chris Pantely Daley; her parents, Blanche Van Wiel Voorhies and Sydney Louis Voorhies; her brothers, Edward Gregory Voorhies and Raymond Voorhies.

A gracious spirit and devoted heart, Irène passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, elegance, and grace.

A devoted wife and mother, Irène gave of herself freely and forgave easily. She was generous with her time, always ready with a listening ear, a wise word, and a warm smile. Her home was a haven for her children and a gathering place for friends of all ages.

A proud member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Irène began her service with the 1776 Chapter in New Orleans and transferred to the Galvez Chapter in Lafayette in 1980. Her deep love for history was matched only by her passion for travel. Alongside her beloved husband, she explored the beauty of England, France, Mexico, and Greece, returning with stories she loved to share, always told with unending humor and sparkle.

Irène had a gift for needlepoint, finding peace in every stitch. She was an exquisite storyteller with a delightful wit, and her joyful personality made her a friend to all. Young people, especially, were drawn to her wisdom and warmth. They often sought her advice and found comfort in her presence.

Always elegant, Irène carried herself with poise, dignity, and style, a reflection of her beautiful soul. Above all, she was a devout Catholic and a faithful parishioner of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, where her faith was the guiding light of her life.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the lives she touched with such grace and love.

Pallbearers will be Stanwood Duval, Berwick Duval, David Duval, Ben Mayfield, Edward Rivera, and Mark Elder.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gregory Chris Daley and Brother Gale Condit.

The Daley family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer Mayfield, Anna Broussard, Paulette Pinion, Patricia Mouton, Isabella King, Shelley Thomas, Dolores Hopkins, and Brenda Dugas for their compassion and tender care.
